BANDUNG, unpas.ac.id – Ramadhan becomes the best time for sharing to each other. As an actualization of our awareness to the others, Faculty of Law Universitas Pasundan gives fund assistance to social homes.
The assistance was directly delivered by Dean of Faculty of Law, Dr. Anthon F. Susanto, S.H., M.Hum in Panti Social Tresna Werdha Budi Pertiwi, Jln. Sancang No. 2, Burangrang, Lengkong Sub-District, Bandung, on Saturday 23 April 2022.
He said that the program aimed to maintain the silaturahmi in order to build a more intimate togetherness. “By sharing, I wish we could build silaturahmi and establish our social spirit of academic civitas within Unpas Faculty of Law,” he said.
The provision of assistance was also accompanied by the program of breaking-the-fast together and tausiah. Every Ramadhan, Unpas Faculty of Law routinely shares with those in need.
“This is a form of our concern for the community, especially parents in Bandung. Panti Sosial Tresna Werdha Budi Pertiwi was chosen because it is territorially closest to the Unpas Campus of Faculty of Law,” he added.
Managers and the elderly at the Panti Sosial Tresna Werdha Budi Pertiwi welcomed the visit and assistance provided by FH Unpas.
Currently, Panti Sosial Tresna Werdha Budi Pertiwi accommodates 18 elderly people with the youngest being 70 years old and the oldest being 98 years old.
The assistance provided by Unpas Faculty of Law will be later distributed to 10 elders (those who do not stay at the social home). Therefore, there will also be 28 elders who will be received the assistance.
Administrator of the Social Home, Asep, said that the elders who stay at the social home are entirely women, since they only have one-roof facility that they accept one gender only.
He hoped that there would be more participation from the community to help the social homes. In Bandung, there are at least 6 social homes.
“The presence of academics like this is very much needed so that the elders feel the love that is not fully given by the family. They are often home sick. For that, in addition to the material, they also need psychological encouragement,” he concluded. (Reta)*
