BANDUNG, unpas.ac.id – Commemorating the Prophet’s Day of Birth, Institution for Studies and Development of Islamic Syiar (Lembaga Pengkajian dan Pengembangan Syiar Islam, LPPSI) Universitas Pasundan holds a religious lecture (lit. tausiyah) entitled “Misi Profetik Kenabian Muhammad SAW dalm Penguatan Iman, Ilmu and Amal Saleh bagi Peradaban Manusia”.
The tausiyah presented Great Imam of Istiqlal Mosque, Prof. Dr. KH. Nasaruddin Umar, M.A. who previously served as Deputy Minister of Religion Republic of Indonesia, Director General of Islamic Community Guidance at the Ministry of Religion and members of Britis-Indonesian Advisory Team. In 3 November 2021, he was also elected as Chairman of BP4.
In his speech, Rector of Unpas Prof. Dr. Ir. H. Eddy Jusuf Sp, M.Si., M.Kom., IPU emphasized that at least there are three meaningful things that can be taken from the Prophet’s Day of Birth commemoration, namely to increase our love and admiration for him, implement better way of behaviour, as well as maintain the value of social life.
“Take the moral lesson taught by the Prophet and we hope would be still in the guidance of our religion. Hopefully, the preservation of the value of social life and the relationship between us will be a form of gratitude to the Almighty,” he explained.
Of the Prophet’s prophetic mission, Head of Pasundan Foundation of Higher Education, Dr. H. Makbul Mansyur, M.Si wish that Unpas academic civitas could take the moral lesson to complete the wise character, leadership spirit and become a useful human being for others.
Similarly, General Chairman of Paguyuban Pasundan Prof. Dr. H. M. Didi Turmudzi, M.Si stated that the Prophet’s Day of Birth is expected to be not only ceremonial, but also a momentum to take his footsteps and spirit of spreading Islamic symbols.
At the main peak of event, Prof. Dr. KH. Nasaruddin Umar, M.A explained in detail about how Islam brought by Muhammad PBUH would be able to build the world and transform Jahiliya era to the Golden age.
“The 6th century AD was market by the presence of Prophet Muhammad PBUH, through which Islam brought so totality changing the world. There was no time in which religion and science work symmetrically if it was not for Muhammad PBUH,” he said.
He became a history, by conquering Persia and Roman under the name of Islam. He was so wise and glorious that he was not only told or remembered by his history, but also loved and missed, without having he intention of culting him as God.
“It is not in vain that humans miss and mention his name. The more often you miss, the Prophet Muhammad SAW will be present in dreams. Whoever dreams of Him, is promised together in heaven,” he continued.
Prophet Muhammad PBUH is the figure of best leaders and best managers. He really loved to have a dialogue, think about his people and be persistent defending religious teachings. Therefore, humans mush hold tight, be consistent and consequent with His teachings.
“Remember, the beauty of religion should be balanced with the beautifully-decorating customs. Islamic universality also collects the local wisdom. Therefore, take appreciation of our culture of religion like the way Universitas Pasundan has done, build the local wisdom and do not make them contradicted,” he concluded. (Reta)*
