BANDUNG, unpas.ac.id – Faculty of Medicine Universitas Pasundan is currently developing and preparing Academic Heald System (AHS) to integrate both educational and health system.
AHS is a model of policy which accommodates institutional potential in one series of vision with community needs as its basis.
In line with this. Unpas Faculty of Medicine holds a Discussion of Academic Health System at the Hall of Mandala Saba Ir. H. Djuanda, Unpas Campus II, Jalan Tamansari, Tuesday, 20 September 2022. This discussion was officially opened by Unpas Vice Rector III Dr. H. Deden Ramdan, M.Si. He thought that the discussion become an additional point in actualizing the implementation of activity for excellent learning vision and mission, implementing both University Tri Dharma and structure of academic curriculum.
The discussion was attended by Head of YPT Pasundan, Dean of Unpas Faculty of Medicine, Dean of Unpad Faculty of Medicine, Director of Cibabat Hospital, Former Unpad Rector who is as well Assistance Committee for the Establishment of Department of Medicine, Prof. Dr. dr. Tri Hanggoro Ahmad, and the FK Unpas academic civitas as well.
Dean of Unpas Faculty of Medicine Prof. Dr. Dedi Rachmadi, dr., Sp.A(K)., M.Kes. explained about the road map AHS establishment which is divided into 6 subs, including the fulfilment and equity of health human resources, strengthening cooperation between hospitals and medical doctors, strengthening the quality of health services, strengthening educational hospitals, managing PPDS students, and academic positions of teachers in hospitals for educational purpose.
“There are three levels of AHS. Level 3 (pratama) focuses on education, research and clinical servive. Level 2 (madya) focuses on education, research, and health service (both clinical and other fields of health). Level 3 (utama) focuses on adding national and regional health indicators,” he explained.
Integrating University Tri Dharma
In a concept to Human Resource management, AHS is in charge of determining students’ admission based on each region’s needs, interprofessional education-based educational system, as well as provision of CPD (Continuing Professional Development and CME (Continuing Medical Education).
“At the end of this cycle, Unpas Faculty of Medicine is present and able to contribute. Today, the Faculty itself is in the Level of 3 (pratama). The AHS perspective of Unpas Faculty of Medicine refers to and integrate to aspects of University Tri Dharma,” he added.
To get into AHS, Unpas Faculty of Medicine has taken collaboration between faculty, educational collaboration/partnership with foreign univeristy (Emelio Aguinaldo College, Manila), and STIKES Budi Luhur.
Other than that, Unpas Faculty of Medicine has already had a hospital and health facility (for educational purpose), partnered hospital, public health centres and primary clinics as well; plus, the support of Public Health Empowerment Program (PHEP), Interprofessional Education (IPE) curriculum and assisted villages as well.
FK Unpas has also designed design-thinking to strengthen empathy, collaboration, and action which will later trigger innovation. Design thinking is implemented in PHEP semesters 7-8. Meanwhile, the initiation of design thinking began in semester 1 through the PHEP project as a form of examination.
“Unpas Faculty of Medicine is able to switch to AHS by strengthening human resources, systems, cooperation, facilities and infrastructure. The faculty itself can play a role in the road map for the development of AHS on the fulfilment and distribution of health human resources, strengthening cooperation between hospitals and medical doctors, and strengthening the quality of health services,” he explained.
