BANDUNG, unpas.ac.id – In welcoming the 46th anniversary and commemoration Mother’s Day in 22 December, Unpas Wives Association (Ikatan Istri Keluarga Unpas, IIKU), Unit of Faculty of Economic and Business (FEB) hold a talk show with the theme “Berinovasi di Masa Pandemi Menuju Keluarga Bahagia” on Saturday, 11 December 2021.
The talk show is intended to provide the knowledge regarding the economic growth during Covid-19 pandemic. These are following innovations which can be developed to re-improve the economic growth, especially in the sector of culinary and fashion.
The event was attended by Head of Bandung Office for Culture and Tourism, Division of Creative Economy, Sri Susiagawati, S.E., M.M., Unpas FEB teacher as well as the owner of Café Roemah Nenek Erry S.R. Pangestu, S.E., M.M and Founder Zysku Xena (Clothing Brand) Anggi Maulida, S.T., M.T.
They will be presenting materials considered relevant to the current condition, namely about regulation policy of Bandung Government in the sector of creative economy, culinary business creativity in supporting family income and home fashion business as the alternative for family income.
In his speech, Dean of Unpas FEB, Dr. Atang Hermawan, S.E., MSIE., AK. CA explained about the effect caused by Covid-19 pandemic is widely spread and affected to various sectors of people’s life, especially to family economy.
“Covid-19 pandemic has made basic commodities limited, so families are trying to restock their daily food at home; prices for daily necessities have increased, people’s purchasing power has decreased, debt has increased, and the rate of return on investment, both savings and deposits, has been lower,” he explained.
Other than that, business turnover and family income have increased, not been able to pay for bank’s instalment on time, increasing tuition fees for schools/college to support the procurement of online devices, such as PC or laptop or smartphone.
“Such condition needs everyone’s participation to provide solution for people affected by pandemic; one of which is to create creative innovation or through educational activity, such as this talk show,” he added.
According to him, there are a lot of innovations which can be developed in the sector of culinary business. For example; making a unique name for a product, designing an attractive business spot and various menus, developing application to limit people’s mobility, as well as delivery service.
“And so are with fashion business. Digital aspect really takes big part on improving the intensity of online shopping, making the product ‘reachable’ easily, providing exclusive offer for certain marketing target, as well as the friendly-like approach or personal collaboration which make the business activity itself way much different and unique,” he explained.
Furthermore, the talk show was officially opened by Head of Unpas IIKU, Dr. Dewi Indriani Jusuf, M.Si. She emphasized, to all participants in the talk show, not to be desperate because of Covid-19 pandemic.
“I see that the business which are popular among people is culinary, fashion and craft. Through this talk show held by IIKU, we hope it could motivate us to keep struggling, innovative and be the ease of the family. By doing some works and being empowered, family will be protected and happy. Later, it would also bring Indonesia move forward,” she conclude. (Reta)*
