BANDUNG, unpas.ac.id – Faculty of Social and Political Science (FISIP) Universitas Pasudan, Paguyuban Pasundan and District Government of Pangandaran will build a tourist destination Etalase Kampung Sunda in the district.
The plan said that Etalase Kampung Sunda will be built in Desa Cikalong, Pangandaran District. The government stated that they are ready to provide a 10-hectare land for building this new destination.
This plan was delivered at the meeting between General Head of PB Paguyuban Pasundan, Prof. Dr. Didi Turmudzi, M.Si., Dean of Unpas FISIP, Dr. M. Budiana, M.Si and Regent of Pangandaran, Jeje Wiradinata at the Building of Paguyuban Pasundan, Jalan Sumatera No. 41, Bandung, on Wednesday, 8 June 2022.
Prof. Didi said that Etalase Kampung Sunda becomes a great opportunity for preserving Sundanese culture in the middle of Sundanese solidarity crisis and its language use.
“Etalase Kampung Sunda could be the centre for Sundanese culture. This could be an alternative for development of culture, economy, and West Java’s destination offer in the international level,” he said.
By Etalase Kampung Sunda, people in West Java are expected not to forget their ancestor’s history. “At least, we do not lose the track for our history,” he said.
Dean of Unpas FISIP, Dr. M. Budiana, M.Si stated that Pangandaran is a superior tourist destionation in West Java which is currently getting increased and needs to be strengthened by the icon of cultural tourism in a form of Sundanese traditional village miniature.
“Just like cultural villages in Bali and Yogyakarta: which combine the elements of ethnicity, culture, nature and many more,” he said.
He thought that Etalase Kampung Sunda is established to accommodate people and traditional village in Sundanese tribe based on their traditional daily life and local wisdom.
There are at least two concepts of Etalase Kampung Sunda. Later on, visitors are required to wear Sundanese traditional clothes and communicate/speak on Sundanese (language).
Regent of Pangandaran, Jeje Wiradinata highly welcomes the plan of developing this new tourist destination. In additional, Desa Cikalong is still quite related to Sundanese tradition and culture.
He hoped that by 2023, Etalase Kampung Sunda will have begun to be built. “We already have the concept. Maybe the budget will be added and assisted by the Provincial Governement and West Java DPRD,” he concluded. (Reta)**
