BANDUNG, unpas.ac.id – Faculty of Arts and Literature (Fakultas Ilmu Seni dan Sastra, FISS) Universitas Pasundan becomes host of 6 Dramas of Pondok Basa Sunda by Rinrin Candraresmi at the Hall of Haji Hasan Mustofa, Setiabudhi Campus, on Thursday, 27 October 2022.
This performance is a production of theatre club Warna Panggung collaborated with Unpas FISS, Bandung Office of Culture and Tourism, Centre of Digitization and Sundanese Improvement (Pusat Digitalisasi dan Pengembangan Budaya Sunda, PDPBS) Universitas Padjadjaran, and many more.
The six scripts/dramas showed us Sundanese-spoken story about people’s social life and involved actors with different background. Each draft is played by 2 actors.
The six scripts/ dramas were staged in a medley with a duration of two hours. During the time, the audience was treated to a short drama with a variety of themes, ranging from romance, nationalism, hedonism, to natural wealth.
Dean of FISS Unpas Dr. Hj. Senny Suzanna Alwasilah, M.Pd. also played a role in one of the romance genre scripts entitled “Hate Ratug Tuunggulan”. She plays the character of Komala and opposite Nanan Supriyatna.
“Hate Ratug Tuunggulan tells the story of two people who used to be friends at school. We haven’t seen each other for decades because we live in different countries, but we are finally reunited through social media,” he said.
Komala settled in England, while Sangga (his co-star) in Indonesia. The two reminisce about the past when they were at school and share their feelings with each other via WhatsApp.
Five other scripts were performed entitled Sabot Moyan, Bandera, Girimis Wanci Magrib, Purbararang, and Sora-sora Jeroning Sirah. (Reta)**
