BANDUNG, unpas.ac.id – Faculty of Teaching and Education (FKIP) Universitas Pasundan hold an offline Orientation Training for Batch I Pre-Service of Teachers’ Profession Education (Pendidikan Profesi Guru, PPG) at the Hall of Mandala Saba Ir. H. Djuanda on Thursday, 29 September 2022.
The training was attended by 85 students of Batch I Pre-Service PPG spread in three study fields, namely Biology Education as many as 33 students, Mathematics Education as many as 20 students, and Primary Teacher Education as many as 32 students.
Pre-Service PPG is a main program from Kemendikbudristek to actualize the balance of teachers’ need and fulfilment, both from the quality and quantity itself.
Pre-Service PPG aims to produce certified and professional teacher through the implementation of Education Transformation Program of Merdeka Belajar (Program Transformasi Pendidikan Merdeka Belajar).
In this orientation training, the pre-service PPG students obtains discussion materials about the implementation of vision and mission of Universitas Pasundan, faculties and PPG departments. Students are also prepared by the pattern of Pre-Service PPG, Pre-Service PPG learning and assessment and introduction of Unpas Learning Management System (LMS).
Dean of Unpas FKIP, Dr. H. Uus Toharudin, M.Pd., said that Unpas FKIP has already provided three rooms for Pre-service PPG participants, including supporting facility for academic activities.
“You [students] are among the lucky ones because you have the opportunity to take part in Pre-service PPG through a series of strict selections. Hopefully all the processes would be carried out with very good results,” he said.
Unpas Vice Rector I Prof. Dr. H. Jaja Suteja, S.E., M.Si., representing the Rector, said that Unpas is ready to provide optimal/proper service to these Pre-service PPG students.
“Unpas is proud of having you [Pre-service PPG students] here, in Unpas FKIP. It is our duty and homework for us to make your dreams of becoming professional teacher candidates,” he explained.
Prof. Jaja also emphasized that to become a professional and competent teacher needs struggle and sacrifice; one of them is by taking this PPG.
“You need to be good teachers to convey knowledge, superior teachers to demonstrate good things, and great teachers to inspire students,” he continued.
Students must also be able to lead and set an example, so that the ability to collaborate, communicate, and think critically can be formed and rooted as a character. (Reta)**
