BANDUNG, unpas.ac.id – Faculty of Teaching and Education (FKIP) Universitas Pasundan is prepared to open Master Program of Elementary School Teacher Education (Pendidikan Guru Sekolah Dasar, PGSD). The plan is still on the process of submission proposal arrangement.
Dean of Unpas FKIP Dr. H. Uus Toharudin, M.Pd stated that the establishment of PGSD Master Program refers to the high number of people’s demand and interest who continuously ask about the potential of having a PGSD Master Program in Unpas.
“Currently, Unpas PGSD Bachelor Program have already obtained its Execellent-predicate for accreditation, therefore, it is proper and adequate to establish the department on Master Program,” he said, on Friday, 28 January 2022.
Accreditation of PGSD in Bachelor Program also uses the newest instruments which consist on 9 standards. These proved that Unpas PGSD Bachelor Program was able to meet the quality standard set by National Accreditation Agency for Higher Education (Badan Akreditasi Nasional Perguruan Tinggi, BAN-PT).
“The result is a managerial implementation habituation, so all materials could be well-recorded and provide best results when the assessors visit,” he continued.
It is important to establish PGSD Master Program to accommodate the improvement of teacher’s competence, both for those permanent teacher and non-permanent teacher.
“Seeing on the market potential, there are a lot of alumni who would want to continue their education in PGSD Master Program in FKIP Unpas. We will go for preparation for it, because we have adequate human resources; and there are also many doctoral graduates,” he said.
The Dean also said that the submission proposal would be completed as soon as possible by taking the required aspects into account.
“Hopefully the preparation will not take more than one semester, which obviously must be prepared as optimal as possible. It is because the process of establishing a new study program is rather different than undergoing a re-accreditation,” he continued.
He is sure that the Unpas PGSD Master Program will attract people’s enthusiasm, because it gets institutional support at every level. Not to mention the study program network from both alumni and graduate users.
“Of course, this network makes it easier for us to plan to socialize the establishment of PGSD Master Program in Unpas,” he concluded. (Reta)*
