BANDUNG, unpas.ac.id – Team from Universitas Pasundan successfully passed the selection of assistance beneficiary for 2021 Wirausaha Desa (Wira Desa) Program initiated by Directorate of Teaching and Student Affairs, Directorate General Higher Education, Ministry of Education Culture Research and Technology (Direktorat Pembelajaran dan Kemahasiswaan, Direktorat Jenderal Pendidikan Tinggi, Kementerian Pendidikan, Kebudayaan, Riset dan Teknologi, Ditjen Dikti Kemendikburistek).
It was announced in the Announment from Ditjendikti No. 4225/E2/KM.09.00/2021 in 23 July 2021. Unpas passed the selection together with the other 80 universities which also received the assistance program.
The proposal which passed the selection of Unpas was entitled “Pemanfaatan Singkong dan Ketan Guna Meningkatkan Perekonomian Desa Babakan Ciparay”, by observing the fostered-village of Unpas Faculty of Engineering in Kabupaten Bandung.
The team collaborating in the proposal include from Food Technology Student Community, Food Technology Department and Unpas Student Affairs which consists of 10 2018/2019-grader students from Food Technology Department.
The Team Head who is also 2018-grader student of Food Technology Department, Ayu Hanifah, said that her team has been arranging and preparing the proposal since May to June 2021. Seeing so much potential, opportunities and challenges at the location, Desa Babakan Ciparay was then selected as the fostered-village by Unpas Faculty of Engineering.
“Seeing the potential, this village has a lot of opportunities since there are people who produce raw cassava and glutinous-rice. Along with the team, we offered the idea the people to develop them to be another product which has more economic value for the society,” she said, on Monday, 26 July 2021.
The target on the village includes MSMEs, ones that have been established, which need supervision. Today, there are three established MSMEs that produce dried food and cakes made from cassava, glutinous rice and others.
Ayu thought that it was possible to do the breakthrough in improving the production for the MSMEs, by doing training and practice, promotion and marketing, especially in this digital era.
“The usage of social media, such as Facebook, Instagram of Whatsapp Messenger allows people to do the promotion, as well as e-commerce training for the existing MSMEs, in order to make the production more popular among society,” she added.
The next step after the proposal has passed the selection is to begin the program from next August to December 2021. The team’s supervisor teacher, Nabila Marthia, S.T., M.Si.P said that she had the main duty to direct the students obtain the purpose of the program smoothly.
“Supervision to the students started from searching data and required activities, directing the program, as well as monitoring its implementation,” she explained.
She also stated that the program is able to improve participation and synergy of the villagers to maximize the existing potentials, especially on the new-established MSMEs that need briefing.
“We hope it would run smoothly, and people in Babakan Ciparay can be helped, either on their ongoing business or on in business they have been initiated by the program itself,” she continued.
Wira Desa Program is a in improving and developing program of entrepreneurship activities located at the village. It also becomes the factor for leading the village economic condition based on local advantages and global concepts.
The purpose of this program is to apply the concept of growing and developing village entrepreneurship which is built in collaboration with the community, the village environment, and universities in a sustainable manner. This program is expected to be able to grow new entrepreneurs, productive businesses, and optimize village advantages. (Rico B)*
