BANDUNG, unpas.ac.id – To improve entrepreneurial spirit within students, Person in Charge (PIC) of MBKM program for Entrepreneurship, Centre of Innovation and Business Incubator (Pusat Inovasi and Inkubator Bisnis, PIIB) and Bureau of Student Affairs Universitas Pasundan hold a coordination meeting.
The meeting held at the Hall of Mandala Saba Ir. H. Djuanda, Kampus Tamansari, on Monday, 3 September 2022 involved Vice Dean III of each faculty to help identify students’ entrepreneur data.
This is part of research “Model Manajemen Starup dalam Penguatan Program Kewirausahaan Mahasiswa” which has been currently doing by the PIC of the program, Dr, Ida Hindarsah and her teams.
According to the survey from Kemendikbudristek, students’ interest of having their own business reaches up to 69.1 percent. However, the actual condition in the field showed the opposite: there are a lot of students who cannot stand on the business due to several factors.
“We try to take on four variables of research, such as creativity, innovation, motivation and management. Is the level of student’s creativity high? How do they gather their idea and how high is their motivation? These are we are going to find out,” she said.
Establishing Collaboration
Ida said that most of the students only think about an idea (think new things), but do not make innovations and initiate new things (doing new things). She thinks that this factor is because their lack of motivation, both internally and externally.
In fact, if creativity, innovation, and motivation work together, it can create a more effective and efficient business management which is in accordance with the original goal.
“We will identify how far the progress of startups, because we believe that many Unpas students already have businesses but do not come to the surface. After that, the pattern of development will be determined,” she said.
The preparation and training, she continued, could be by the faculty or being directed to PIIB. PIIB will accommodate innovation from teachers, students and laboratories to be followed up. Even more, academic civitas which have a start-up business will also be incubated.
“We would like to improve collaboration between PIIB, Bureau of Student Affairs and faculty as well. Since it is related to MBKM program, this will simplify coordination between faculties to collaborate to make an entrepreneurial proposal to be submitted to KBMI Program or ASMI,” he said.
In the near future, her team will also hold an FGD presenting faculty’s BEM, as well as representative of HIPMI PT and Unpas business incubator, Telkom University, Universitas Widyatama, and Universitas Islam Bandung. “We try to dig on the interesting phenomenon from the point of view of institution, organization, structure, tutoring model, tenant recruitment, development, monetizing, as well as obstacles and attempt of the handling to accelerate the business start-up to grow,” she continued.
