
BANDUNG, unpas.ac.id – Rector of Universitas Pasundan Prof. Dr. Ir. H. Eddy Jusuf Sp, M.Si., M.Kom., IPU welcomed foreign student from Tajikistan, Sharipov Tohirjon at his room on Wednesday, 12 October 2022.
As welcoming remark, Rector put him the Unpas alma mater jacket on and shook Tohirjon’s hand. He is a student of Department of Economic Development, Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB).
He is currently studying in his 5-semester after two years attending the courses online through Zoom Meetinng and Learning Management System (LMS) during Covid-19 pandemic.
Tohirjon arrived and came to Indonesia on Monday, 9 October 2022 to start the official offline course meeting in Unpas FEB.
Dean of Unpas FEB Dr. H. Atang Hermawan, MSIE., Ak., and Secretary of the Department of Economic Development also welcomed his arrival at Unpas Rector’s Building.
Tohirjon is not the first foreign student taking the course study at Unpas. Previously, Unpas has accepted foreign students few times from Turkey, Poland, Japan, South Korea, Uzbekistan, Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore and other countries.
“Tohirjon’s arrival prove that Unpas has already become the university which is quite popular amongst Soviet Union separated countries, including Tajikistan, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, and many more,” said the Rector.
In 2022/2023 academic year, there are still foreign students who have not been able to study face-to-face on campus. This is due to restrictions and regulations related to the Covid-19 pandemic in force in their country.
Meanwhile, the Dean of Unpas FEB, Dr. H. Atang Hermawan, MSIE., Ak. said, besides Tohirjon, there were also foreign students from Laos, Poland, and Turkey in Unpas FEB. However, most of them could not be able to attend because of the Covid-19 in their country had not completely subsided.
“They will come gradually and start taking face-to-face lectures at FEB Unpas,” he concluded. (Reta)**
