BANDUNG, unpas.ac.id – Other than transferring knowledge through the process of learning, universities also has its orientation distributed for developing knowledge, technology and problem-solving in the society by doing researches.
To realize the vision, Unpas Research Institution becomes the strategic sector in establishing research activity. The institution not only improves its atmosphere, but also gives support to make the result come out with good quality.
“Research institution is responsible for running or supervising the research and development which are one of the points of Tri Dharma Perguruan Tinggi,” explained Head of Unpas Research Institution, Dr. Erni Rusyani, SE., M.M, at Unpas Campus IV, Jalan Dr. Setiabudhi No. 193, Bandung, on Wednesday (June 2nd, 2021).
Research Institution directs the research being carried out to be innovative and can be used for creating values, products or production process by still focusing on technical, functional, business, socio-cultural and aesthetical context.
“Research becomes the important aspect to support the institution performance. Therefore, a researcher must refer themselves to the ethical research, research quality indicator and Unpas guidelines of research policy in order to reach the target and optimal performance,” she added.
In the midst of Covid-19 pandemic, apart from doing supervision, Research Institution keep improving the research spirit by doing socialization to each faculties. The socialization is generally about things that support the research itself.
Although the number of research tend to fall down during Covid-19 pandemic, the institution keeps holding socialization, establishes MoUs with partners and plans to improve income generating.
“Soon we are going to hold a socialization about Science and Technology Index (SINTA). Then, we plan to improve income generating or making income from business at the university, for example having our own disposal, turning water into drinkable ones, et cetera. These are our programs,” she explained.
Recently, the institution has proposed 10 teachers to join the program, namely to obtain certain research fund from the institution. The research funding is a form appreciation and support, considering there is a budget refocusing for Covid-19.
“Budget refocusing for handling Covid-19 has resulted in far less research funds from the government. Therefore, Unpas Research Institution proposed 10 teachers who did not qualify for having funded from the Directorate of Research and Community (Direktorat Riset dan Pengabdian Masyarakat, DRPM) to be funded by the institution,” she ended.
