BANDUNG, unpas.ac.id – Group of choirs of Universitas Pasundan, Lingkung Seni Mahasiswa (Paralisma) has gained its achievements outstandingly.
After receiving the silver medal at the 2022 Bandung Choral Festival, Paralisma has recently received gold medal (Top 5 Rank) at the 16th National Folklore Festival (NFF) held by BEM FEB UI.
NFF is a forum for young generation to re-develop their caring and love to the diversity of Indonesian culture packed by the dancing and music competition of traditional songs.
This Unit under the auspices of Unpas Vice Rector III Dr. H. Deden Ramdan, M.Si showed its outstanding performance when singing West Java local song, Bubuy Bulan, arranged by Nicholas Rio, Bandung composer, arranger and accompanist.
Head of LISMA Unpas Dimas Reza Primusalim said that based on its original meaning, Bubuy Bulan intended to deliver the longing of distant relatives. The soft strains of Bubuy Bulan also succeeded in bringing Paralisma to win the 2022 BCF silver medal.
“We want to be more aggressive in introducing West Javanese traditional songs to the Indonesian people. Moreover, the 16th NFF has good values and has become a routine activity every year,” he said on Tuesday, 17 May 2022.
Paralisma competed with 17 other participants in the Higher Education category. Even though it was virtual, Paralisma still performed optimally and established itself as a gold medal winner with 82.00 points.
Dimas also said that the practice started from interpreting partiture containing intonation and rhythm, studying on the song part, analysing musical element, as well as practicing on consonant and breathing sounds.
“This competition becomes part of pre-event of Krikil (LISMA’s main work program). Regarding the obstacles, virtual competition is as hard as the non-virtual one, since we need to pass the audio and video recording,” he continued.
However, thanks to the direction of Galang Yusuf (as the coach) and the help of the LISMA creative team, Paralisma was able to package audio and video nicely.
“As the General Chair of LISMA, I am very grateful because this achievement has spurred Paralisma to get the best results and increase the motivation of 4 other art units to continue to work and be creative,” he concluded. (Reta)*
