BANDUNG, unpas.ac.id – After competing at the XX Papua National Sports Week (Pekan Olahraga Nasional, PON) and presenting a gold medal for West Java through volleyball, Farhan Halim appeared as a new star at the 31st SEA Games 2022 event.
This student from the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP) of Universitas Pasundan was lined up to be a core player to strengthen the Indonesian Men’s Volleyball National Team.
The name Farhan Halim began to grab the attention of the public when he defended Jakarta Pertamina Pertamax in the 2022 Proliga.
Although he has not succeeded in bringing Jakarta Pertamina Pertamax to the Proliga 2022 champion, Farhan Halim won the individual title as Best Server in the prestigious volleyball competition.
In the struggle for group winners at the 2022 SEA Games, Farhan Halim’s slick serve and fast smash often contributed points for Indonesia.
The appearance of Farhan Halim and team brought Indonesia to the top of Group A after overthrowing Malaysia with a score of 25-12, 25-11, and 25-13.
With a landslide victory over Malaysia, Indonesia will face 2nd place in Group B in the semi-finals on Friday, May 20, 2022.
Farhan Halim is listed as a recipient of an undergraduate education scholarship at FISIP Unpas. He is exempt from tuition fees for a maximum of four years of education.
The scholarship was given as an appreciation and guarantee of welfare after the Pasundan Volleyball Club won the championship title beating TNI Headquarters at the 2019 Livoli Division I Club Championship in Pacitan, East Java.
Unpas Vice Rector III for Student Affairs Dr. H. Deden Ramdan, M.Sc. also appreciates and fully supports Farhan Halim’s steps at the 31st SEA Games 2022.
“Congratulations competing in the SEA Games Vietnam, uphold sportsmanship, appear confident, and muster all the abilities you have,” he concluded.
Have a good match and present the best results, Farhan Halim! (Reta)**
