BANDUNG, unpas.ac.id – Hello, Wargi Unpas! (lit. Wargi Unpas means all people who are attached to the academic civitas in Unpas, including professors, teachers, students, new students, staffs, etc). The strike of Covid-19 pandemic which has not come to an end made the Program of Campus Introductory (Pengenalan Kehidupan Kampus bagi Mahasiswa Baru, PKKMB) re-held online. Unpas PKKMB 2021/2022 Academic Year will be held on October 2nd, 2021.
Even so, do not let this condition dampen your enthusiasm to participate, because you can learn many things, from introducing campus elements, academic terms, to rules that must be obeyed during college.
Well, these are common things you need to prepare to welcome the online PKKMB.
- Get to Know Your Friends
PKKMB is your first chance to get to know your friends of classes’ year. Just because it was held online, it does not mean that you do not greet each other, even it is by online way only. You can ask them where they come from, or their motivation/ reason to get into the similar department. Getting to know each other will certainly give a lot of advantages; not only adding more relations, but also exchanging thoughts when having assignments given by the teachers. You can also meet up with other friends coming from same areas.
- Write Down the Schedule on Your Reminder
It often happened; holiday habits are still carried over during PKKMB; one of which is getting up late, and there are even students who forget their schedule. To prevent such things from happening, set a reminder on your cellular phone, or, the most effective way is, ask your parents to ‘become an alarm’ for important schedules during PKKMB.
- Make Sure You have Enough Internet Quota
Since the online PKKMB is going to be held for few days, you need to make sure you have enough internet quota. If you install the Wi-Fi network at home, check its connection to make it run smoothly. For those who do have neither internet quota nor Wi-Fi network at home, asking for a hotspot is the shortest and simplest way.
- On-camera Mode
Avoid turning off the camera during these important activities, to make Unpas recognize its new students’ faces. Also, avoid turning off the microphone or speaker when there is no instruction. Show your enthusiasm even though it is only through the monitor, pay attention and listen to the information carefully so that you will not be confused when having your first day at campus.
- Wear Neat-and-Tidy Attire
Keep using neat-and-tidy attire even when you do not meet people directly. Online PKKMB is indeed more flexible, but keep obeying the rule that has been set before. Avoid wearing T-Shirt. Basically, PKKMB requires the students to wear white shirt and black pants (do not forget to iron them!)
- Find a Quiet Place at Home
Do not take PKKMB lightly. You need concentration and focus so that you can absorb the material given. In order not to be disturbed, you need to be in a quiet place. Remember, there is a lot of important information about the technical lectures that will be delivered during the PKKMB.
- Set Your Time to Work on Assignments
During PKKMB, especially in the department level, your senior will usually give you few assignments. So, make sure you are able to set your time to work on the assignments. Relax, the assignments are not as difficult as you have imagined before. It even will increase your knowledge.
- Watch Your Attitude during PKKMB
The beginning of getting into college is indeed difficult, but it is not the reason why you need to stop in the middle. Keep your spirit high during PKKMB, since you will get a valuable lesson from expert people at the college. Do not forget to keep your body healthy during PKKM. Keep fighting! (Reta)*
