5000 Seats Prepared for UNPAS New Students for 2021/2022 Academic Year

Posted on March 22, 2021

BANDUNG, unpas.ac.id – Universitas Pasundan (UNPAS) Bandung has prepared about 5000 seats for New Student Admission (lit. Penerimaan Mahasiswa Baru PMB)) in the 2021/2022 academic year.

The admission process was held by two different process; the first one is by Selection Test (lit. Ujian Saringan Masuk) and the second one is by Interest and Skill Tracking (lit. Penelusuran Minat dan Kemampuan (PMDK)). Due to Covid-19 pandemic, the admission process is still carried out by online system.

During the admission process, UNPAS has opened three phases of registration. The first phase has been opened since January 4th, 2021.

UNPAS Vice Rector I who is also the Head of New Student Admission, Prof. Dr. H. Jaja Suteja, SE., M.Si. CFRM. DBA stated that the online process of New Student Admission is not much different than the onsite one.

“What makes it different is the technical process. Basically, the paper-based test is usually done onsite, but right now it is done online,” cleared the Vice Rector I in UNPAS Campus IV, Jalan Dr. Setiabudhi Bandung, on Thursday (March 4th, 2021).

He also added that the Interest and Skill Tracking process are done by each faculty while the university only provided few regulations. “The Interest and Skill Tracking process are done by the faculty, because they are the ones who know more about the detailed information of minimum skills required by the field of expertise or each study program.”

Regarding the number of new student seats for the 2021/2022 academic year, Unpas provides 5,000 seats with details of 60:40, namely 60 percent for those who passed the selection test, while 40 percent for those passed either the achievement or interest tracking process (PMDK). Each year, UNPAS has been able to maintain the number of its new admitted students around 4.000 to 5.000 people.

“Alhamdulillah, these past 8 years, we are still able to maintain the steady number of student admission, 4.000 to 5.000 each year on average,” he explained.

These number of students are determined based on the ratio of facilities and infrastructures, lectures and other academic staffs. Up until now, the number of active students recorded in UNPAS database is more or less 18.989 students and 553 lectures. Therefore, the ratio between the number of students and lecturers is still normal at 1:30

“As the representatives of the Rector, especially in the academic staffs, we send our gratitude for your [student] trust to join UNPAS. We hope UNPAS could be your best partner to reach your dream,” he added.

Currently, UNPAS has also been A-accredited by BAN-PT. There are 18 study programs which have gained A-accredited. UNPAS has 26 study programs of Bachelor Degree and 14 study programs of Master Degree. UNPAS is also trusted by the government as one of private universities which has already implemented the program of Freedom to Study – Independent University (lit. Merdeka Belajar – Kampus Merdeka (MBKM)).

The Vice Rector I also thought that UNPAS would always take effort to provide the best service for the community through government mandate in joining participation in the programs of leading organization (Reta Amaliyah S)***
