BANDUNG, unpas.ac.id – Facing ahead of Eid Al-Adha 1442 Hijriyah on Tuesday, 20 July 2021, Universitas Pasundan cancelled the Eid pray and the slaughter of sacrificial animals, following government regulation during Covid-19 Emergency State of PPKM in Java-Bali.
Both rectorate and deans of each faculty handed over the animals to Religion Affairs Division of PB Paguyuban Pasundan as committee in holding this event.
Based on the information from Secretary of Religion Affairs Division of PB Paguyuban Pasundan, Rasman Sonjaya S.Sos., M.Si., the association has already received 13 cows and 1 sheep from the farm unit within Paguyuban Pasundan, including Unpas.
“We received the animals from Unpas Faculty of Engineering, FISIP, FEB, FKIP, Magister Program, Communication Studies and Food Technology Department,” he said on Monday, 19 July 2021.
The slaughtering process is not carried out in the complex of Paguyuban Pasundan, Jalan Sumatera No. 41, Bandung, but distributed to the Islamic Boarding School, foundation, mosque, and other training region of Paguyuban Pasundan.
“In order to keep implementing health protocol, the Religion Affairs Division will distribute the animals to rural areas. The slaughtering is not watched by the muqorib (people who give animals to be sacrificed), but represented by committee of PB Paguyuban Pasundan,” he added.
The slaughtering locations are in Fathussalam Al-Mubarok Islamic Boarding School Bandung, Great Mosque Al-Barokah Purwakarta, Al-Hikmah Foundation Cileunyi, Al-Hidayah Mosque Banjaran, Ibnu Ina Mosque Ujung Berung, Majalengka and Jalan Pasundan No. 23, Bandung.
Due to Covid-19 Emergency State of PPKM, the slaughtering of animals is carried out by those who are professional in the field in order not to involve crowds.
“Teams who will slaughter [the animal] will have themselves tested for Covid-19 and be confirmed negative. We also really pay attention to the distribution mechanism, since it is not allowed to involve crowds. So, the system is to distribute the meat by dropping it from house-to-house. Even if it is picked up, it is only allowed by one person to be redistributed,” he explained.
Other than Unpas, the committee also has received other animals from schools under Pasundan Primary and Secondary Foundation (Yayasan Pendidikan Dasar Menengah Pasundan), Pasundan Higher Education Foundation (Yayasan Pendidikan Tinggi Pasundan), PB Paguyuban Pasundan and combination of individuals.
