Unpas Preparing Vaccination Program for Students and Public

Posted on September 1, 2021

BANDUNG, unpas.ac.id – As part of support on government effort in accelerating national vaccination program as well as breaking the spread of Covid-19, Unpas will hold the vaccination program for students and public.

Unpas collaborated with Polrestabes Bandung in the program which will be held in 4-8 August 2021, by providing quota for 5 thousand participants.

Head of the Committee as well as Unpas Vice Rector III Dr. H. Deden Ramdan, M.Si., CICP. DBA said that Unpas is currently doing coordination meeting regarding the preparation for vaccination program. He also stated that public’s enthusiasm is quite high since Unpas made the announcement in the last 17 July 2021.

“Preparation has been already 80% finished. The data of participants is currently being updated, so they will get further information regarding the vaccination schedule that has been set before,” he explained on Friday, 30 July 2021.

He also said that there has been a change of vaccination location information, which was originally to be held at Unpas Campus IV, Jalan Dr. Setiabudhi. It now changes to Unpas Campus V Jalan Sumatera No. 41 Bandung.

“Location is changed. It is due to previous program by Paguyuban Pasundan that held it near to the Faculty of Medicine,” he explained.

He also stated that two days before the vaccination takes time, Unpas will also get its party prepared, especially for all event committees, health staffs/officers and facility availability on the location.

“On Monday, we are also getting a last rehearsal, preparing everything: equipment, health staffs/officers, and all committees by sending coordination in order to run the program smoothly and successfully,” he said.

As the organizer, Unpas provides health staffs from Faculty of Medicine, also helped by the staffs from student association, including Unpas – Indonesian Red Cross Volunteer Corps (Korps Sukarela Palang Merah Indonesia, KSR PMI).

Vice Head of the Committee as well as Head of Paguyuban Pasundan Covid-19 Task Force, dr. Trias Nugrahadi, Sp.KN(K) also explained that the participants are limited to 1000 per day in order not to make crowds.

“Our target is 1000 participants, starting from 8 o’clock in the morning to 3 in the evening, as an anticipation of people getting crowded,” he said.

He also suggested the participants to be able to inform their attendance ad come to the location based on the schedule being set before. This will give impact to the vaccination duration and process. In addition, the committee will send a short message or SMS Blast regarding the schedule and confirmation of participants’ attendance.

Furthermore, dr. Trias also said that before getting shot for vaccination, the participants are required to have proper eating and rest, and make sure their condition is at the best.

“It is better for the participants who are getting vaccinated to keep their body healthy, have proper enough rest and stick to the health protocol, since the Covid-19 pandemic is still striking,” he said.

The first-dose-batch vaccination is targeted for participants above 18 years old. They are urged to bring their own identity card or a copy of it. (Rico B)*
