BANDUNG, unpas.ac.id – To improve teacher’s competency and professionalism, especially in pedagogical and social personality, Universitas Pasundan re-opened the Batch 4 Skill Improvement and Instructional Technique Training (Diklat Peningkatan Keterampilan dan Teknik Instruksional, Pekerti).
The training participants consisted of 373 from 185 universities in 19 provinces. Participants have already taken the technical guidance and will attend the training for six days, starting from 4-9 October 2021.
“Instructors are as many as 60 people, facilitator 22 people, helpdesk administrator 14 people and committee 38 people. These people will help and give their best service to the participants complete the assignments in order to pass the training in honoured,” explained the Head of Unpas Pekerti Training Committee, Dr. Cartono, M.Pd., M.T., on Monday, 4 October 2021.
Instructors involved in the training are the experts in their field; including Chairman of Paguyuban Pasundan Prof. Dr. H. M. Didi Turmudzi, M.Si., Unpas Rector Prof. Dr. Ir. H. Eddy Jusuf Sp., M.Si., M.Kom., IPU., Vice Rectors, and senior teachers. All of them are from Unpas (internal). Meanwhile, external instructors include Rector of Telkom University, Rector of International Women University (IWU), Vice Rector I of Universitas Komputer Indonesia (Unikom) and other professors from partnered universities.
In his speech, Rector of Unpas Prof. Dr. Ir. H. Eddy Jusuf Sp., M.Si., M.Kom., IPU., stated that he appreciated all involved parties supporting the training. He wished that the training would become the effort to build the collaboration, especially when fulfilling the integrity pact and carrying out the 8 Indicators of Main Performance (Indikator Kerja Utama, IKU).
“The key success of disruption era is a collaboration. Today, we prove it all, together with teachers, universities, instructors, facilitator, helpdesk administrators and committee. I hope these young teachers could develop their legal aspect as a professional teacher and have better competence, both pedagogically, socially and personality,” he said.
Sub-Coordinator of Education of LLDIKTI West Java-Banten, Gina Indriani, S.Si., M.T also gave brief training to the participants, especially about teachers’ competence in facing/dealing with the 4.0 industrial revolution challenge.
“Teacher should be able to design the learning process, carry it out effectively and evaluating the process itself. They are expected to have a strengthened-character to improve the educational quality and human resource development,” she said.
Lastly, Chairman of Paguyuban Pasundan Prof. Dr. H. M. Didi Turmudzi, M.Si gave his advices about religion, culture and education. They are important, considering the massive culture interaction and value shifting, as well as people’s attitude and behaviour changing.
“It is the paradox which leads to the social problem, such as inequality in economic life, rampant crime, authoritarian attitude, intolerance, lack of political ethics and greed. In addition, capitalism, conservatism, neo-liberalism and other invisible ideologies make the educational system in Indonesia separated from moral and cultural aspects,” he explained.
Therefore, responses from the educational field are necessarily needed, including by re-arranging the curriculum, strengthening the local moral and culture, developing information technology and evaluation system of quality assurance as the responses of global reality.
“Education should also be more sensitive to the social condition and reality. Values of Pancasila need to be strengthened to filter the negative ideology which is currently happening and attacking in social media,” he concluded. (Reta)*
