BANDUNG, unpas.ac.id – Universitas Pasundan collaborating with Siliwangi Kodam III will hold a Covid-19 Vaccination Program for student, college student and public (those who are above 12 years old).
The program will be held on Friday-Saturday, 29-30 October 2021 at Unpas Campus IV, Jalan Dr. Setiabudhi No. 193, Bandung. Participants are required to fulfil the registration form on the link bit.ly/VaksinasiUnpas12 and bring their Identity Card (Kartu Tanda Penduduk, KTP) and Family Certificate (Kartu Keluarga, KK) if the concerned participant is under 17 years old.
Unpas Rector Prof. Dr. Ir. H. Eddy Jusuf Sp., M.Si., M.Kom., IPU stated that this program will appoint the team of Faculty of Medicine as leading sector, assisted by Students’ Executive Board (Badan Eksekutif Mahasiswa, BEM) and UKM Communication Forum (Forum Komunikasi UKM, FK UKM).
“Vaccination program is the actual move to break the spread of Covid-19 cased and actualize herd immunity. If it reaches 70%, people’s mobility will be not longer restricted and return to the normal condition,” he confirmed.
This vaccination program is a follow up to similar event held by Paguyuban Pasundan. Based on the information obtained previously, vaccination is targeted for 3000 people and its registration will be closed until it meets the quota.
“Vaccination program will continue until herd immunity is formed. It is as well as our dedication to the nation from Unpas and Paguyuban Pasundan,” he said.
As reported before, West Java has the heaviest task in forming herd immunity since this province has the most population in Indonesia. It refers that, if vaccination program in West Java is all taken down, this province at least gave 20% of the attainment of herd immunity in Indonesia.
Head of Bandung-branch Indonesian Doctor Association (Ikatan Dokter Indonesia, IDI), dr. R. Dada Gardea Gandadikusumah, Sp.OT said that he and his team greatly welcomed and appreciated the vaccination program Unpas has held. Preferably, Bandung-branch IDI has currently been working on vaccination program for (high school) students.
“Bandung-branch IDI is not focusing on providing vaccination to [high school} student, since 50% of them are starting to go on face-to-face class. Therefore, we should do and focus more on this [vaccination program for high-schooler],” he explained.
He stated that although such programs are being carried out more massive, up until now, we still face on some obstacles; one of which is there are a lot of parents who do not allow their children to get vaccinated. Therefore, Bandung-branch IDI keep on studying and analysing on it in order not to take wrong steps.
“We need to make it straight and study on it first, since not all parents give their approval. If they are already sure that getting vaccinated is face, it would be given thoroughly,” he concluded. (Reta)*
