BANDUNG, unpas.ac.id – Department of Communication Studies, Faculty of Social and Political Science (FISIP) Universitas Pasundan keeps promoting community service program (Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat, PKM).
PKM was carried out regularly and evenly throughout West Java regions. This time, Team of PKM FISIP Unpas led by Head of Department of Communication Studies, Rasman Sonjaya, S.Sos., M.Si undergoes the program in Subang District.
Rasman was accompanied by FISIP Unpas teacher Tresia Wulandari, S.I.Kom., M.I.Kom and two Communication Studies students.
The program held in Desa Wantilan on Thursday, 2 June 2022 aimed to provide assistance for village state apparatuses through information literacy in adapting to smartpolitan era.
It was known before that Subang Smartpolitan is one of the thirteen new-city projects in the development regions of Metropolitan Rebana Cirebon, Majalengka and Patimban.
The city designed by modern environmental layout is to be called the new future of Subang District since it provides and offers internet-of-things-based infrastructure. Its plan came forward with technology by applying efficient and integrated urban system, so it could be the ideal model for developing the next independent city in Indonesia.
“PKM describes the presentation discussing on information literacy, such as digital skill, digital ethic, digital culture and online security,” he said.
Village state apparatuses are also prepared by the ethic of using social media and internet. To create a ‘polite’ netizen, the apparatuses, as representative of the government should be the observer and controller.
“We prepare for #NetizenBeradab, an understanding of the type of social media and how to use them, setting up the anti-hoax shield and applying netizen’s starter kit to post a comment (responding to swearing by praising at things and being good at reading the situation of commenting),” he said.
Rasman emphasized that other things that must be considered besides being wise in using social media are online investment, recognizing the types of cybercrimes, being careful of digital traces, and reporting cybercrimes.
“We hope that the apparatuses of Desa Wantilan, Subang District could understand and apply information literacy to welcome smartpolitan,” he said. (Reta)**
