BANDUNG, unpas.ac.id – After attending a hybrid university-level PKKMB at the Hotel Savoy Homann, on Tuesday, 4 October 2022, new students of Universitas Pasundan for 2022/2023 academic year continued the series of PPKMB activities in the faculty.
PKKMB was held together in six faculties, on Wednesday-Thursday, 5-6 October 2022. Most of the faculties set the 100-percent offline PKKMB system; but there is also some of them holding it hybrid. Faculty of Medicine has already held the orientation program “Be Ready as Intelligent Medical Student” (BRAIN) on last 6 September 2022.
“At the faculty level, new students are able to obtain more detailed information about campus’ life, such as introduction of faculty’s function, academic mechanism and system, facilities and infrastructures, as well as its financial system, student boards, each department overview, and student institution under the supervision of faculty and department as well,” said Unpas Vice Rector III, Dr. H. Deden Ramdan, M.Si.
Faculty of Law
Faculty of Law PKKMB “Retorika” was held hybrid and carried out by fun activities such as campus rally (socialization of institution and talent-and-interest unit), snack time to get to know each other, the making and reading of love letter from new student to PKKMB committee, the embedding and inauguration of class-of-2022 Faculty of Law Abah Ambu, academic civitas introduction, and panel discussion “Kewajiban Mahasiswa dalam Mencintai Tanah Air”.
Faculty of Social and Political Science
Unpas Faculty of Social and Political Science (FISIP) PKKMB “Evolve” was divided into two sessions. First day was held online at the Hall of Suradireja, Lengkong Campus, and focused more on the introduction of faculty’s academic civitas; meanwhile, the second day was held at Balai Sartika Bikasoga, with the agenda of introducing each department, Student Executive Board (Badan Eksekutif Mahasiswa, BEM), Student Representative Council (Dewan Perwakilan Mahasiswa, DPM), Student Press Publishing Board (Badan Penerbitan Pers Mahasiswa) and Coucil of Mosque Ulul Abshor.
The new students were also offered by wayang golek performance, dream sharing, guest star performance Club Dangdut Racun, community introduction in FISIP Unpas (Pasundan Radio, ONCAM, Viking Unpas, Djamur, Riverside, Komunitas Foto Lengkong, Komunitas Musik FISIP), as well as socialization of KPUM and party.
Faculty of Engineering
Faculty of Engineering PKKMB “Gapura” was also held a 100-percent offline at the middle-section of parking lot in Unpas Setiabudhi. As much as 644 students gathered again and enlivened the atmosphere of Unpas FT PKKMB, surrounded by orange nuanced.
These new students had the opportunity to obtain interesting materials from the start-up business Satu Persen – Indonesian Life School, public lecture presented by Regional Military Command III/Siliwangi Major General TNI Kunto Arief Wibowo, and cultural discussions with Pidi Baiq/Budi Dalton.
Faculty of Economics and Business
Officially opened by the performance of Rampak Kendang dance and the embedding of Abah Ambu, Unpas Faculty of Economics and Business PKKMB provided useful materials for new students; starting from the overview of Unpas FEB, introduction of international class and socialization and Unpas FEB students’ institutions.
On the second day, Unpas FEB new students received materials that were no less interesting, namely optimizing the role of student functions in society, pioneering entrepreneurial spirit in facing Indonesia’s post-pandemic era, millennial generation as the foundation of digital transformation to encourage the development of the digital economy ecosystem in Indonesia, and self-quality escalation in order to form a generation of economists who have the intelligence and character of a leader presented by Atalia Praratya.
Faculty of Teaching and Education
Unpas Faculty of Teaching and Education PKKMBB “Mangraga” attempted to grow both Sundanese and Islamic values, as well as the character of pengkuh agamana, luhung elmuna dan jembar budayana (religious, educated, cultured). The cultural atmosphere, in particular, was clearly visible from the Sundanese iket and batik accessories worn by new students. The series of activities began with the embedding of participant marks to student representatives from 6 study programs, followed by the presentation of material about the scope of the faculty and teacher training.
Faculty of Arts and Literature
Although it was online, Unpas Faculty of Arts and Literature PKKMB still highlighted their characteristics of nyentrik and nyeni. Student representatives are required to wear costumes which is identical to their own departments. Department of English Literature wore a costume of writers. Department of Visual Communication Design wore Ngumbara costume, while Department of Music wore costum of 70’s Rock and Roll, Department of Photography and Film wore a blue top and black bottom, and carries a camera made of cardboard.
Faculty of Medicine
As the youngest faculty, Unpas Faculty of Medicine was able to present a memorable faculty-level PKKMB. Its “BRAIN” PKKMB held for 4 days prepared students with materials about tips and roles of medical students, how to hone soft skill, introduction of skill labs, socialization of Abah Ambu, tutorial, and practice at labs.
