BANDUNG, unpas.ac.id – In welcoming its 109th anniversary, Paguyuban Pasundan plans to hold few agendas. Several agendas which have been carried out include charity program, Kodepena declaration and National Seminar regarding the 2024 Election for Indonesian’s future.
As the actualization of community service, Paguyuban Pasundan has held its chariy program by helping build houses for residents affected by the disaster, distribution of basic necessities in Majalengka District, and provision of business capital in Bekasi.
Paguyuban Pasundan also handed out educational scholarships to underprivileged students and students, including awards for outstanding athletes who helped strengthen the Indonesian team at the 2021 Vietnam SEA Games.
“Actually, scholarships are not only given when we celebrate the anniversary. What makes it special is that, at the 109th Anniversary, Paguyuban Pasundan increased the quota of scholarship recipients. Last year, the funds allocated were approximately 1.5 billion and this year it will be bigger,” said the General Chairman of Paguyuban Pasundan, Prof. Dr. H. M. Didi Turmudzi, M.Si. on Monday, 4 July 2022.
The types of scholarships provided are in the form of a 20 percent reduction in tuition fees to a fee waiver for students and students who are economically disadvantaged.
“Last week, we announced Komunitas Dosen Penulis and Peneliti Indonesia (Kodepena). This is in line with the mission of Paguyuban Pasundan in fighting against poverty and lack in education,” he said.
At the age of over than one decade, Paguyuban Pasundan has been really consistent to keep contributing to the country and trying to regain the glory of Paguyuban Pasundan.
“Since before Indonesia claimed its independence, Paguyuban Pasundan has been actively helping government’s struggle in establishing people’s welfare. Although it only has little impact, we at least are able to contribute and be responsible for nation’s future and advancement,” he said.
Officially Announcing Pasundan Hospital
In the near future, Paguyuban Pasundan will also officially announced Pasundan Hospital to support the education courses and independency of students of Faculty of Medicine Universitas Pasundan.
“Insya Allah, we will soon announce it officially, as the place for student of Faculty of Medicine do and complete their study. It is hoped to create prospective outstanding doctors whose existence could help society,” he added.
Pasundan Hospital will be later become a practice laboratory as well as form students’ independency and entrepreneurial spirit supported of updated curriculum.
Today, Paguyuban Pasundan supervises 120 educational institutions, from the elementary to the highest, as well as 14 thousand of fostered MSMEs spread throughout various regions.
“One of the duties of Paguyuban Pasundan is to prosper and empower people. That is what we build as a form of moral responsibility,” he concluded. (Reta)**
