Universitas Pasundan participates on Proficiency of Making Deeds and PPAT Competition, on Monday, 10 October 2022.
This competition was held by Forum of Communication of Department of Master of Notary for Private University. It was held online and offline, attended by 19 private universities all around Indonesia which organize Department of Master of Notary.
Head of Department of MKn Unpas, Irma Rachmawati, SH., LL.M., MH., Ph.D said that Unpas has already been involving in the forum for so long. Unpas has collaborated on maintaining curriculum, student-and-teacher exchange and various competition.
“Few years ago, Unpas MKn was once elected as the host, followed by Universitas Warmadewa, Universitas Jayabaya, and Universitas Islam Bandung, for the time being. Unpas MKn attends this competition routinely and Alhamdulillah, we always win,” she said.
Every weekend, teachers of Unpas MKn who are active at the laboratory, assister their students to practice on making the deeds and PPAT.
Participants in the offline competition were also asked to study the questions given by the forum the week before. Meanwhile, for online competitions, new questions will be submitted during the competition.
“We are collaborating with the MKn Unpas Student Association (Himanu) to recruit students who want to participate. There is even a first-semester student who actually has not received a certificate course in class, but he is enthusiastic to participate,” she continued.
In addition to having to master the making of a good and correct deed, participants must also know the Law on Notary Positions, as well as the main points of notary law and PPAT, such as contract law, land law, and so on.
Getting Prepared for Debate Contest
After the notarial deed and PPAT skills competition, students will also take part in a debate contest held by the forum. The debate aims to test students’ abilities in dealing with clients and understanding the Law on Notary Positions.
“Although we are not lawyers, we need to convince the client that the process of making the deed must be in accordance with the rules contained in the Notary Position Law, so it is not according to the client’s wishes,” he explained.
She thinks that debate contest is able to described the personal attitude of a notary who should not take on anyone’s side and be regulated by anyone.
She hopes that the skills competition for making notarial deeds and PPAT as well as debate contest can bring together MKn Unpas students with MKn students at other universities.
“So that they have a link with their fellow professions, because a notary is not only about his own position. Hopefully they can become administrators at the Indonesian Notary Association and the PPAT Association. The most important thing is that they can maintain their championship position,” she concluded (Reta)**
