Ready to play totality
Unpas’ badminton coach Farhan Budiarto, S.Pd.Gr. said that although the preparations were quite sudden, but so far, the match went smoothly and produced satisfactory results.
“There is no special strategy, the important thing is that the players are in top condition and ready to play totality with anyone and in any party,” he said.
In addition to strengthening mentally, the players are also asked to be aware of the opponent’s performance. “Whoever the opponent is in front of the net, players must be able to play optimally and be good at reading the opponent’s playing pattern,” he continued.
If badminton generally competes in singles and doubles, LIMA Badminton presents a triple party (three players). LIMA Badminton became the first competition to feature a triple party.
“A triple match itself is already acknowledge by Indonesian Badminton Association (PBSI). Players of Unpas have also already been prepared for the triple party,” he said.
Although the number of players who have been selected is limited due to the lack of human resources, Farhan is optimistic that the Unpas team will be able to win the championship title. “Players are still nervous at first; their concentration is divided because this is the first event after the pandemic. But with prayer and effort, Alhamdulillah, they can do it,” Farhan continued.
The coach and official team, Muhammad Faris, targets for the best results at the LIMA Badminton event. “We see the spirit and enthusiasm of the athletes who are extraordinary, they have the motivation to win,” he said. (Reta)**
