Universitas Pasundan earned an ORI (lit. Original Rekor Indonesia) Award for its most participants attending the event of College Volunteer Declaration of Anti-Narcotics held on Sunday, September 1st, 2020, in Sasana Budaya Ganesha, Jl. Tamansari No. 73, Bandung.
The giving of ORI Award was handed by Director of Narcotics, Deputy for the Eradication of the National Narcotics Agency (lit. Badan Narkotika Nasional), Brigadier General Victor J. Lasut to Prof. Dr. HM. Didi Turmudzi, M.Si (Head of Paguyuban Pasundan), Prof. Dr. Ir. Eddy Jusuf Sp., M.Si., M.Kom (Head of West Java Artipena (lit. Aliansi Relawan Perguruan Tinggi Anti Narkoba)), Dr. Deden Ramdan, M.Si (Vice Rector III of Unpas) and to West Java National Narcotics Agency.
“It is beyond expectation. We expected 3500 participants to attend the event, but it was recorded that there are already more of it. It was about 4200. Therefore, the Declaration and the earning of ORI Record by has been legally and officially implemented,” said Brigadier General Victor J. Lasut, after handing the record at the same place.
Victor J. Lasut also hoped that the event could motivate the public to keep themselves healthier and free of narcotics and drugs. As for Unpas students especially, he hoped that the students could perform their study better and got more achievement both nationally and internationally.
“Every 26th of the year are celebrated as the World Anti-Narcotics Day. We hoped that for the next June 26th, Unpas would achieve an award from the president as the most-committed campus for anti-narcotics,” he explained.
Meanwhile, Head of Paguyuban Pasundan, Prof. Dr. HM. Didi Turmudzi, M.Si told that this event is one of the contributions in fighting the spreading and danger of narcotics.
“By the reading of this declaration, we do not only read a statement, but also need to have tougher and higher precaution skill. We are sure that we could gain a lot more integrated effort, both from the public, government, universities and others. By these efforts, we are sure we could reduce drug abuse. We should not let it appear again after getting rid of,” he said.***
