BANDUNG, unpas.ac.id – Universitas Pasundan holds a socialization program for Strengthening Capacity of Student Organization (Program Penguatan Kapasitas Organisasi Kemahasiswaan, PPK Ormawa) online on Thursday, 14 April 2022.

Ministry of Education, Culture and Technology (Kemendikbudristek) provides opportunity for university to improve the quality of student organization through series of community service and empowerment programs.

This program was officially opened by Unpas Vice Rector III, Dr. H. Deden Ramdan, M.Si and also attended by Vice Deans III of each faculty, university-level BEM’s representatives, faculty-level BEM’s representative, Student Units, as well student community (Himpunan Mahasiswa).

“PPK Ormawa aims to improve university’s performance in strengthening the capacity of student organization to be more competent, modern and character. This needs to be appreciated and welcomed, moreover, for the past two years, these student organizations have lacked activities due to Covid-19 pandemic,” he said.

By applying actual actions directly in the field, students are expected to be able to improve their teamwork, awareness and critical thinking, especially when having and facing problems to solve.

According to him, PPK Ormawa initiated by Kemendikbudristek is closely related to the development of rural areas/ regions.

“I am glad because the budget allocation for developing the village is currently getting increased. Few activists also do not only make the capital as the only one place to grow. They certainly come back to their hometown to build and prosper the villages,” he continued.

To join participation in PPK Ormawa, students are required to submit the proposal and choose one of the 14 topics offered. There are 14 topics of the proposal, namely sociopreneur, future farming, women’s school, digital village, young farmer studios, medical plantation conservation and digital landfills.

Other than that, there are also other topic, namely healthy village, smart village, innovation house, climate village, maritime village, forestry village and other activities which are proposed in this program.

“Students can also choose the targeted location, including the village in remote area, transmigration area, build these villages to be developed, develop the village to be independent, fostered village, and villages which have potential based on their selected topics,” he explained.

Materials of the socialization program were delivered by Reviewer from Kemendikbudristek who is as well a Professor in Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia, Prof. Dr. Uyu Wahyudin, M.Pd. The proposal arrangement is assisted by Unpas teacher, Ir. Gatot Santoso, MT and staffs in Bureau of Student Affairs.

“I wish, Unpas student organization would be more active in taking participation on this similar program. Do not let it slide, do not make it lack of interest just like Student Creativity Program; moreover, there are a lot of rewards. Thus, please join,” he confirmed. (Reta)*
