BANDUNG, unpas.ac.id – Universitas Pasundan hosts the Memorandum of Understanding-Signing event (MoU-signing event) between Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM) and other private universities in Indonesia.
As much as 80 private universities in Indonesia consisting of universities, high-school academy (sekolah tinggi), and institute as well, attend the MoU-signing event at the Hall of Mandala Saba Ir. H. Djuanda, Unpas Campus II, Jl. Tamansari No. 6-8 Bandung, on Tuesday, 26 July 2022.
UUM collaborates with other universities, both state and private ones, in research project, student exchange, capacity development of teacher and academic staffs, as well as joint research.
Massive and Large-scale MoU-signing
Rector of UUM Prof. Dr. Haim Hilman Abdullah stated that the scope of work covers up aspects of research, program development of students’ and staffs’ mobility of both universities, shares various facilities and information taken from the joint research and implementation of conference and joint seminar.
According to Haim, this massive and large-scale of MoU signing did not directly shows trust to UUM. The 80 universities also agreed to sign a Letter of Statement of Collaboration (LoC).
“We would like to collaborate with both state/private universities in Indonesia; therefore, we, along with Indonesian Private University Association (Asosiasi Perguruan Tinggi Swasta Indonesia, Aptisi) and Diktiristek carry out a road to campus program,” said Prof. Haim.
He continued that UUM has international accreditation deserved to be recognized by students and teachers in Indonesia. UUM also provides 1000 scholarships during 2022-2025.
“For early stage, the scholarships provided is amounted to 250, starting for Bachelor, Magister and Doctoral Degree. These scholarships are open for anyone, including Indonesians,” he said.
Head of Central Aptisi Dr. Ir. H. M. Budi Djatmiko, M.Si., MEI stated that the collaboration is one of the MBKM implementations. His parties keep supporting students and teachers to continue their study to both Magister and Doctoral Degree.
“There are thousands of private universities in Indonesia. Some of them have taken collaboration with UUM, so we are going to implement MBKM program,” he continued.
In his speech, Rector of Unpas Prof. Dr. Ir. H. Eddy Jusuf Sp, M.Si., M.Kom., IPU. stated that before the MoU, Unpas has already joined collaboration with UUM.
“It [the collaboration] has been running for two years. There are a lot of benefits obtained by both parties. This MoU-signing event can be used properly for filling the program of double-degree or joint degree,” he concluded. (Reta)**
