BANDUNG, unpas.ac.id – Unpas students, have you already known about the Merdeka Belajar – Kampus Merdeka Program (MBKM)? Or, any of you has already joined one of the programs? MBKM is the program solution (regulation) from Mendikbudristek, Nadiem Makariem, in order to improve the learning quality and university graduates.
The learning process in Kampus Merdeka program gives students challenges and opportunities to develop their innovation, creativity, self-capacity and independency through the dynamics of the actual field, such as skill requirement, actual problem, social interaction, collaboration, individual management, performance, target, as well as the purpose itself.
Realizing the importance of building and enriching students’ hard skill and soft skill, Universitas Pasundan also takes participation on implementing this program. Unpas has also already appointed the Person-in-Charge (PIC) for each learning program.
So, what is the benefit of joining this program? A lot. It includes the conversion of 20 credits to each semester for one program of Kampus Merdeka, full exploration of knowledge and skills in the actual field for one semester, expanding the network outside the department and campus, as well as learning directly from the qualified and reputable partners.
What kind of programs that can be attended by students?
- Student Exchange – Merdeka
Student Exchange, who does not want to join it? There are a lot of Unpas students who took part in student exchange program, both nationally and internationally, such as in Politeknik Kesejahteraan Sosial (Polteksos) Bandung, Universitas Utara Malaysia (UUM) and a lot more.
- Internship/ Work-field Practice
So far, students seemingly lack of getting work experience in industry or professional filed, so when they graduate, some of them are not quire ready to get into the actually work field. Well, this program gives you proper internship experience for students through direct practice at the office/ company (experimental learning). Students will obtain skills, problem-solving ability, analytical skills, professional ethic understanding, communication, collaboration and other benefits.
- Teaching Assistant in Educational Unit
This program is actualized Kampus Mengajar. In batch 1 and batch 2, hundreds of Unpas student took part on this program and are spread around various schools in rural village/ area to teach primary (SD) and high school (SMP) students. They work and promote literacy and numeracy, as well as technology adaptation. Interesting, right?
- Research
For students who have passion to become a researcher, MBKM program can actualize it in the form of research activity carried out in a study centre/ research institution. Through research, students can build their critical thinking; this is what is necessarily needed for any kind of disciplines in all level of higher education. By having critical thinking, students will understand and be able to conduct research methods better.
- Humanity Project
On the form of humanity project, there are a lot of Unpas students who are involved in this project; one of which is one held by Kemensos, Pejuang Muda program. It gives opportunity for student to directly get into the area in which need assistance, empower the poor and elders, carrying out healthy lifestyle socialization program and environmental heath, as well as building public facility in post-disaster area.
- Entrepreneurship
Actually, the percentage of millennial entrepreneurial potential, especially for college students, is quite high, but it is not well maintained yet. Therefore, Kampus Merdeka program supports them in building student’s interest for doing entrepreneurship; one of which is by Indonesian Activity for Student’s Entrepreneurship (Kegiatan Berwirausaha Mahasiswa Indonesia, KBMI) and Akselerasi Startup Mahasiswa Indonesia (ASMI).
Unpas PIC for Entrepreneurship, Dr. Ida Hindarsyah, M.Si along with Business Incubator Unit (Unit Inkubator Bisnis) have already appointed the team which will be proposed for both programs, as well as keep doing incubation program to cover more entrepreneur students who are willing to ‘perform’ in the direct field.
- Independent Study/Project
There are a lot of students who have passion for actualizing their big dream/ work or innovative ideas being competed in the international level. In this program, do not hesitate to join! Students from Faculty of Engineering have mostly performed and actualized their works internationally.
- Developing a Village/ Thematic Work Field
Work field (Kuliah Kerja Nyata Tematik, KKNT) is one of the kinds of educations which give learning experience to students by using the way of living with the community outside campus. Students along the society could identify the potential and solve problems; therefore, this program is expected to be able to develop the potential of a village and brainstorm about the solution.
Work field is expected to be able to build partnering soft skill, cross-discipline collaboration (cross-competenc) and students’ leadership in maintaining the development program in rural areas.
