BANDUNG, unpas.ac.id – Rector of Universitas Pasundan Prof. Dr. Ir. H. Eddy Jusuf Sp, M.Si., M.Kom., IPU. accompanied by his Vice Rector III who is as well Department of Division for Organization Paguyuban Pasundan Dr. H. Deden Ramdan, M.Si attended the official inauguration of Central Board (Dewan Pimpinan Pusat, DPP) of Mitra Sunda Riau (Misuri) on Sunday, 19 June 2022.
Rector of Unpas who is as well Head of Division for Organization Paguyuban Pasundan representing General Chairman of the foundation Prof. Dr. H. M. Didi Turmudzi, M.Si visited the location of DPP Misuri at the Hotel Furaya, Pekanbaru.
Administrator of DPP Misuri for 2022-2027 is directly inaugurated by Deputy Governor of Riau, Brigadier General TNI (Purn) H. Edy Natar Nasution. It was also attended by several important figures, such as Head of Local Police for Indonesia, Local Representative Council (DPRD) for Pekanbaru, as well as traditional and religious figures.
Reported from various sources, Head of DPP Misuri Eyang Surachmad said that Misuri will be the organization which will actively take roles in supporting the development in Riau. With its slogan silih asah, silih asih, silih asuh, Misura committed to put forward teamwork and togetherness.
“We are committed to keep the harmony with Sundanese society both in Riau and other paguyuban (lit. association) from other regions in Riau. Riau has heterogenous society, so the harmony must be put forward, maintained and improved,” he said.
Eyang Surachmad stated that Misuri is a paguyuban for people in Riau who come from Sundanese ethnic. He said that Misuri has kept trying to maintain the nation’s culture as its identity on behalf of establishing a more qualified community and competitiveness.
“We do not only put forward on the art, tradition, attitude and culture of Sunda, but also Riau’s, in order to make them blended in the middle of the society,” he continued.
The Rector also congratulated the inauguration of the DPP Misuri and hoped that the Sundanese associations, wherever they are, could work together for the progress of the region.
“Congratulations to Eyang Surachmad for being trusted to lead Misuri for the next five years. This is evidence that all Sundanese communities in the area can blend in and be accepted by other communities. Always maintain harmony so as not to interfere with the course of development,” he said.
