BANDUNG, unpas.ac.id – Universitas Pasundan gives the outstanding student another opportunity to register through Interest and Skill Tracking (lit. Penelusuran Minat dan Bakat (PMDK)) in the selection of New Student Admission (lit. Penerimaan Mahasiswa Baru (PMB)).
The students who have interest in getting passed through PMDK will also be selected and chosen based on their capability. This is because registrants for the PMDK are achievement-based and exclusively should not have to take the Selection Test (lit. Ujian Saringan Masuk).
“Student’s preference on PMDK is not seen based on the academic achievement only, but also non-academic, such as national champion in sport, art and culture. They are given chance to get into the PMDK,” said the Vice Rector I, Prof. Dr. H. Jaja Suteja, S.E., M.Si., CFRM. DBA at UNPAS Campus IV, Jalan Dr. Setiabudhi, Bandung, on Thursday March 18th, 2021.
As for the minimum requirements, students should fulfill the requirements determined by each Faculties to suit their needs. Nevertheless, the student admission is still based on university regulation.
“The admission entry was indeed given to the faculty; but after that it needs to be reported to the university committee for updating and putting the data,” he added.
According to Vice Rector I, PMDK showed a significant improvement. Before being added, the proportion for PMDK was only 35 percent while the rest of it was through the written test or Paper-based Test (PBT).
Currently, the proportion for PMDK increases to 40 percent. It is even more growing along with the increase of student’s interest to get into it.
“The addition [for PMDK quota] is also balanced with the quality. We keep on improving service, especially when it comes to student admission in the midst of pandemic. It needs to be done online. Therefore, PMDK which usually requires the student to carry physical document to campus, is now being input via online platform,” he explained.
Prof. Jaja also stated that entering the third month of first-phase student admission, registrants’ enthusiasm was pretty good. The peak of Student Admission usually starts in the second-phase one, both through PMDK and selection test.
“The first one is usually wait and see. The registration curve will rise or peak in the second phase, so it looks like a normal distribution curve,” he closed (Reta Amaliyah S) *
