BANDUNG, unpas.ac.id – Regent of Pesisir Barat, Dr. Agus Istiqlal, SH., MH., visited Campus II Tamansari Universitas Pasundan on Wednesday, 12 January 2022. Besides silaturahmi, the alumnus of class-of-1981 Department Social Politics (now Public Administration) FISIP Universitas Pasundan also underwent an audience session with the representative of other Unpas alumni.
In his visit, all Unpas alumni was welcomed by Unpas Vice Rector III, Dr. H. Deden Ramdan, M.Si. Agus also admitted that he was proud to be Unpas alumnus who is able to serve to the country. “We are also proud of being able to serve and compete to other graduates from other university,” Agus explained.
Agus also stated that after graduating from Unpas, he once served as prosecutor, Head of Tanggamus General Attorney’s Office, Lampung, and others. Today, apart from being a Regent, he also teachers in Post-graduate Program in a university.
In addition, he admitted that he was proud of Unpas since it has established many study programs and new faculty, such as Faculty of Medicine. Its building greatly stands on floor bravely; it is rather different from the time he took his studies which still lacks of facilities.
“When I was in college, purchasing a typing machine was still difficult and expensive. It is really different from now, which is all available. Every era must have its own time,” Agus said.
Agus and other alumni are determined to continue to support Unpas. Because, the role of alumni is to determine the progress of a university. “Whatever it is, we will still support,” he said.
He also appealed to all Unpas alumni to love their alma mater and not to stop communicating with the campus and other alumni. “Who knows people’s fate. I was also surprised, how come I become a prosecutor, being a Head of General Attorney, and Alhamdulillah, right now, I am a Regent. It is fate. When there is a will, there is a way,” he concluded.
