BANDUNG, unpas.ac.id – Rector of Universitas Pasundan Prof. Dr. Ir. H. Eddy Jusuf Sp, M.Si., M.Kom., IPU signed the contract for research fund grant of six teachers who passed the Program of Decentralization from Kemendikbudristek for 2021.
The six teachers who received the fund are Prof. Dr. Dra. R. Poppy Yaniawati, M.Pd. (Mathematics Education), Prof. Dr. Ir. Wisnu Cahyadi, M.Si (Food Technology), Dr. Horas Djulius, SE (Economic Development), Dr. Yonik Meilawati Yustiani, ST., MT (Environmental Engineering), Dr. Ayi Purbasari, ST., MT (Informatics) and Dr. Dra. Imas Sumiati, M.Si (Public Administration).
Head of Unpas Research Institution Dr. Hj. Erni Rusyani, SE., MM said the research proposal has already been submitted since last 2020, but the approval for the fund was postponed due to Covid-19 pandemic.
“This program provides opportunities for teachers to do the research as an actualization of University Tri Dharma funded by Kemendikbudristek. Alhamdulillah, six teachers from Unpas passed the selection, although it is still in the midst of pandemic,” he explained.
Every year, there has always been Unpas teachers who received the fund. Even more, the last few years, Unpas got the most grant fund from LLDIKTI Region IV West Java-Banten.
“After receiving the fund, the concerned teachers can begin their research. It is expected that they would be able to prepare their research as optimal as they can and submit the report on the scheduled time. In addition, the period is targeted to be the end of the year,” he explained.
Other than decentralization program, two teachers from Unpas also receive a matching fund from Kedaireka (Kerja Sama Dunia Usaha dan Kreasi Reka). Kedaireka Matching Fund is an actual form of Kemendikbudrisktek support to create collaboration and synergy between university and industry party.
“In addition, starting form 1 September 2021, Rector has issued the Decree to motivate the teachers to make a research report. Teachers who have Doctoral Degree (or maximum Expert Assistant) or Magister Degree (Associate) should submit at least one research proposal and community service proposal,” he added.
This regulation was highly welcomed in order to increase the academic ambiance in Unpas. The Decree indirectly become teachers’ responsibility to focus to the research. Therefore, when Kemendikbudristek open requirements for research proposal, the teachers are already prepared.
“College teachers do not only teach students, but also do the research and community service to get more knowledge, expand the insight and other functional position or position’s promotion. Therefore, the research is important to do,” he concluded. (Reta)*
