BANDUNG, unpas.ac.id – Teacher of Department of Education for Primary School Teacher (Pendidikan Guru Sekolah Dasar, PGSD) Faculty of Teaching and Education) Universitas Pasundan Dr. Siti Maryam Rohimah, M.Pd. takes short study in Summer School program at Utrecht University Netherlands.
This program is attended by 20 participants from various countries, including Indonesia, United States, Portugal, Greece, Canada, Poland, Turkey, Spain and China.
This program focuses more on the implementation of Realistic Mathematics Education (RME) in improving curriculum and research in the sector of Mathematic education, starting from the basic level, intermediate and university level.
“We also learned the development of inquiry learning, assessment, computational thinking, math games, open ended, Math City Map, algebra, embodied design for mathematics, IBL, numeracy and mathematics education at Dutch primary schools, and the use of context-based mathematics learning technology,” he explained.
The Summer School program, which will take place from 15-25 August 2022, aims to create quality Unpas human resources who are able to compete at the international level.
“I had the opportunity to give a plaque to the Head of the Summer School Program, Dr. Michiel Doorman and convey the research results in the form of posters,” she continued.
The series of Sumer School programs also enrich the experience of lecturers in an effort to improve quality through research, so that they become motivation for lecturers and students in Unpas.
Dean of Unpas FKIP Dr. H. Uus Toharudin, M.Pd. stated that his party will support any kind of programs which can improve teachers’ capability; one of which is by Summer School program.
“We support teacher to improve their credibility to be able to make/write new research and findings, as well as able to take advantage on opportunities to obtain more experiences,” he concluded. (Reta)**
