BANDUNG, unpas.ac.id – Universitas Pasundan represented by Centre of Instructional Activity Development and Improvement (Pusat Pengembangan dan Peningkatan Aktivitas Instruksional, P3AI) re-holds the Batch 4 Pekerti Training and Batch 1 Applied Approach (AA) Training for teachers throughout Indonesia.
In this program, participants taking parts on Pekerti Training are as much as 206, while AA Training is as much as 46 participants. These training aims to improve pedagogic competence in an effort of developing teacher’s professionalism.
In addition, teachers are expected to obtain basic knowledge of instructional technique in designing, implementing and evaluating learning system.
“Pekerti/AA Training was started with technical guidance (bimbingan teknis, bimtek) on Saturday, 6 November 2021. Furthermore, the training will be held online for six days, starting from 8-13 November 2021,” explained the Head of Pekerti/AA Training Committee Unpas, Dr. Cartono, M.Pd., M.T on Monday, 8 November 2021.
Similar to the previous batch, the training will still involve 60 instructors, 22 facilitators, 14 helpdesk administrators and other 38 committees. These people will work together to provide service for participants to complete their assignments.
In the end of the program, the participants will be grouped into small ones to do the peer teaching practice based on what they are teaching. Such mechanism is arranged to run the training as smooth as possible, based on current existing standard.
“Meanwhile, participants of AA Training need to do the real teaching and conduct the Classroom Action Research (Penelitian Tindakan Kelas, PTK) in the campus and department where they teach in,” he continued.
This activity was then made into a video and reported to the committee to be analysed and given suggestion from the instructors on duty.
According to the statement from the Rector, Prof. Dr. Ir. H. Eddy Jusuf Sp, M.Si., M.Kom., IPU, a competent teacher required to master pedagogic skill and be professional.
Teacher takes important role in planning and implementing the learning process, carrying out the result assessment, as well as tutoring the students.
“Teachers, as professional educator, play an important role to inform the knowledge, actively conduct the research and community service, as well as contribute to create competitive graduates to adapt to work field and create job opportunities,” he concluded. (Reta)*
