BANDUNG, unpas.ac.id – Election of Outstanding Student in Universitas Pasundan held on 25 January 2022 finally produced one representative to be sent to the LLDIKTI Region IV-level election.
A student from the Medical Education Department Faculty of Medicine, Dina Anandita Irawan managed to beat six other candidates and will go further at the provincial level against representatives from universities in the West Java-Banten area.
Dina was chosen because of her scientific writing (Karya Tulis Ilmiah, KTI) and English language skills which were considered the most qualified. KTI presented by Dina has also been proven through research and is considered easy to implement in the community.
“I have done the research about changes on dietary habit of Indonesian students during the Covid-19 pandemic and its effects on body weight. Then I linked this pattern with Isi Piringku, a campaign related to balanced nutrition promoted by the government through the Ministry of Health,” she said.
Dina also stated that Isi Piringky is a guideline of eating portion which needs to be consumed to fill the nutrition needs consisting carbohydrate, protein, fibre and fat. Dina blended the program with the research she is conducting.
“Actually, there are still a lot of differences between student’s dietary habit during Covid-19 pandemic and the guideline government has set before,” Dina continued.
Although she is getting into the fourth semester, it is familiar for Dina to conduct the research. The topic raised in her KTI has even published on the international journal, as well as passed the series of software tests.
“My research was also tested on a number of samples and it was proven that there was a change in the student’s dietary habit during the Covid-19 pandemic. I think this point is one of the advantages and considerations for the judges, because it is not only based on theory,” he said.
In addition to research topics and English language skills, student achievement is also the focus of assessment.
This bespectacled student has won a silver award at the International Youth Paper Competition and the international medical Olympiad in the Research Paper Competition category.
From her record of achievement, it appears that Dina has a high interest in research, particularly in the disciplines of health and nutrition. According to her, research opens insight into new things, increases curiosity and teaches her to enjoy the process.
“Many think that research is complicated, because it has to be tested and corrected if there are any errors. For me, research actually gives a valuable impression and experience, so that it triggers me to try new things,” she said.
Getting Prepared for LLDIKTI IV-level Election of Outstanding Student
Facing the LLDIKTI IV-level election, Dina focuses on preparing herself mentally, improving the context of KTI to be more accurate and qualified, as well as following the development of the latest issues while re-honing Indonesian and English skills.
During her preparation, Dina will be accompanied by mentors on doing and guiding KTI as well as language proficiency, especially Bahasa Indonesia and formal English.
“I was suggested firmly to write a down-to-earth KTI in order to be accepted and implemented in the society. It must be as eye-catching as possible: simple but meaningful, interesting background; and also includes solutions that can motivate people. I hope I could bring the best results for Unpas,” she concluded. (Reta)*
