BANDUNG, unpas.ac.id – Vaccination program initiated by Student Executive Board (Badan Eksekutif Mahasiswa, BEM), Student Institution (Lembaga Kemahasiswaan, LKM) and Student Activity Unit (Unit Kegiatan Mahasiswa, UKM) Universitas Pasundan is highly welcomed by the society and students.
Head of Unpas BEM as well as Head of Committee, Ujang Amrullah said the vaccination program will be held for two days, Friday-Saturday, 29-30 October 2021. The preparations carried out were quite thorough, taking approximately three weeks and involving various stakeholders.
“Seeing the fact that vaccination program in Bandung has not still reached the target, Unpas students provide their solution and give an understanding to the public that vaccination is necessarily needed to strengthen immunity during pandemic, especially when students are starting to do the face-to-face learning at school,” he explained.
Bringing the theme “Sinergitas Unpas bersama LKM dan UKM dalam Mewujudkan Indonesia Sehat”, this vaccination program is targeted for more or less 3000 participants, approximately 1000-1500 doses per day.
“Based on our observation, vaccination participants are dominated by students, both from high school and college. Previously, the committee has spread the information to 42 schools. We also hold a socialization program to four village, namely Isola, Sukajadi, Sukarasa and Gegerkalong,” he explained.
Residents around Unpas Campus IV, as Ujang stated, can register themselves and fill the form directly on the spot. This is one of Unpas considerations regarding the elders willing to get vaccinated, but they found it hard to access the form via internet.
“We have already discussed this matter with the village’s head and decided to allow them to register on the spot. Speaking about obstacles, we have not found any troubles so far, but it is hard to find ones [who want to get vaccinated] of student age, since there are already many schools that hold similar program,” he continued.
Apart from having full support from campus, collaboration between BEM with LKM and UKM was also supported by Kodam III Siliwangi, West Java Regional Disaster Management Agency (Badan Penganggulan Bencana Daerah, BPBD) and West Java Disaster Preparedness Joint Post (Pos Gabungan Siaga Bencana Jabar) as collaboration partner.
“We hold this collaboration since there has been long time we have not held a program together. Also, it is to create our harmony and develop our communication to get more intense,” he said.
He hopes this program could build public’s awareness and become a self-reminder to be aware of our health. He also reminded people to eliminate the negative paradigm about vaccines.
“I hope, people who have not gotten vaccination, could sooner get one in which they are living,” he concluded. (Reta)*
