BANDUNG, unpas.ac.id – Universitas Pasundan is now preparing the proposal for 8 study programs to be submitted into international accreditation. This is to strengthen the reputation and public trust in the international level.
This international accreditation has been proposed since early 2020. However, due to Covid-19 pandemic, the field assessment has not yet been carried out. Reported from the Unpas Research Institution (Lembaga Penelitian, Lemlit), performance component that will be assessed has already been prepared. It consisted of plan suitability with the research realization, the number of joint research and the suitability of the Research Master Plan (Rencana Induk Penelitian, RIP)
Rector of Unpas, Prof. Dr. Ir. H. Eddy Jusuf Sp., M.Si., M.Kom., IPI conveyed that today, the continuity of international accreditation is still waiting for further information for still waiting for approval of the online visitation, considering that in-person visits will be difficult.
“Unpas has targeted almost 8 study programs and proposed them to be submitted since last year. We have already prepared several requirements/ criteria optimally if needed. However, there are still not further information about the visitation yet,” he said at Unpas Campus IV, Jalan Dr. Setiabudhi No. 193, Bandung, on Wednesday (April 28th, 2021).
Apart from improving the reputation, it is carried out to actualize Unpas vision and mission as member of international academic community. Regarding to that, the rector said that Unpas will join ASEAN University Network (AUN) and invite the teachers as well to join it as member.
“The accreditation is also a step to actualize the Main Performance Indicator (Indikator Kinerja Utama, IKU) which is the basis for the transformation of university: in point no. 8 stating that study programs must have international standards,” he explained.
Two out of the several study programs proposed for international accreditation are Accounting and Industrial Engineering. Accounting has a strong association which makes it considerable since it has potential to own an international-standard curriculum.
“We already set the international accreditation by joining Accreditation Service of International College (ASIC) and Indonesian Accreditation Board for Engineering Education for Food Engineering Department,” he explained.
Although the visitation has not yet been carried out, the international class at Unpas has still been running. Unpas cooperates with Kyung Hee University and Changwon National University South Korea, as well as expand cooperation with multinational partners in Indonesia. (Reta Amaliyah S)*
