BANDUNG, unpas.ac.id – It is very important to be careful in choosing foods and raw-food material to be consumed in order to avoid products that do not meet standards and endanger health.
The reason is that there are many unscrupulous food sellers/traders who are desperate to use unprocessed materials to reduce production costs, and include hazardous chemicals as well, such as textile dyes, borax, or formalin.
The actions of these individuals are often revealed in investigative reports and broadcast on television. This investigative show reveals the fact that not all of the foods commonly consumed by the public are not safe.
To support the completeness of investigation process, Faculty of Engineering Universitas Pasundan takes collaboration with iNews TV investigation program entitled iNews Files, especially for carrying out raw-food material laboratory test.
Laboratory owned by Department of Faculty of Engineering is used for helping the investigation process. It involves teachers and laboratory assistant of the department. Teachers will help explain the result of laboratory test of food sample which is currently being investigated.
Dean of Unpas Faculty of Engineering Dr. Ir. Yusman Taufik, MP said that before collaborating with iNews TV, the faculty itself has once taken collaboration with similar Investigation Program (Reportasi Investigasi) in Trans TV.
“We would like to let people know about how to use raw-food materials safely which is free of addictive substances, halal, suitable for consumption, and allowed by BPOM,” he said on Wednesday, 10 August 2022, quoted from Unpas Talk podcast.
The number of street food which
food on the roadside that escapes the supervision of BPOM encourages Unpas Faculty of Engineering to educate and set an example for MSME actors to be more careful and careful in choosing food ingredients.
“So far, there are many foods and drinks that contain dangerous ingredients. We are collaborating with iNews TV investigation program to utilize the laboratory at Unpas Faculty of Engineering,” he said.
The program can be watched every Tuesday and Saturday on television or on the iNews TV YouTube channel. “Through investigation shows and laboratory test results at Unpas Faculty of Engineering, I hope the public would be more aware of everything around them,” he concluded. (Reta)**
