BANDUNG, unpas.ac.id – Army Chief of Staff (Kepala Staff Angkatan Darat, KSAD) General Dudung Abdurachman was awarded the honorary title of Pinisepuh “Wastu Jana Parakrama” from Paguyuban Pasundan on Monday, 29 August 2022.
The title was given to General Dudung as a form of respect for his courage in carrying out his duties. The title Pinisepuh Paguyuban Pasundan also signifies a person who is respected, admired, and being respected as elder.
The awarding procession was marked by the embedding of the Sunda iket by the General Chairman of PB Paguyuban Pasundan Prof. Dr. H. M. Didi Turmudzi, M.Sc. This event, which was accompanied by a national lecture, was a series of the 109th of Milangkala Paguyuban Pasundan.
“We are proud of having Sundanese figure who become and serves in TNI AD. We have already prepared this awarding ceremony for so long. Hope it would be our blessing,” said Prof. Didi.
Prof. Didi also wished that Pinisepuh Paguyuban could take part in dealing with the crisis of ethnic solidarity, the crisis of using the Sundanese language, the crisis of Sundanese symbols, and the crisis of informal leadership.
“Paguyuban Pasundan has certainly worked on these things, even though it is only a small part of the big effort carried out by the West Java government. Hopefully in the future we could collaborate together,” he added.
General Dudung also appreciated it and is grateful for the trust given by Paguyuban Pasundan. “The awarding of this Pinisepuh title is an honour as well as a mandate that I must be responsible for,” he said.
He also appreciated the work of Paguyuban Pasundan which consistently upholds its vision to fight ignorance through 120 primary and secondary education institutions and four universities.
Being an Inspiration of West Java Education Curriculum Procurement
West Java Governor Ridwan Kamil, in his remarks congratulated the addition of the honorary title Pinisepuh Wastu Jana Parakrama and dozens of other traditional titles.
Not long ago, the work of Army Chief of Staff General Dudung Abdurachman in getting rid of radicalism was also appreciated by the Philippine elite Civil Military Operations Regiment (CMOR) unit through the title ‘Combat Kagitingan Badge’ and will soon be invited to the US for a similar agenda.
“This is an honour for me, that not everyone can get. The sign is that there are extraordinary achievements from the Tatar Pasundan figures,” he said.
The West Java Provincial Government, he continued, was inspired by the KSAD’s work to insert an anti-radicalism and anti-terrorism curriculum in high school (SMA). The West Java Provincial Government will instil anti-radicalism and anti-terrorism attitudes in a multidimensional manner.
“We invite the Army Chief of Staff to be the ceremonial inspectors so that the understanding of anti-radicalism and anti-terrorism will trickle down to the children who will later become West Java’s successors,” he explained. (Reta)**
