BANDUNG, unpas.ac.id – Gokart Team of Universitas Pasundan which has never absent from contributing achievements, Kart Team of Mechanical Student Association (Himpunan Mahasiswa Mesin, HMM) celebrates its 20th anniversary on 1 November 2021. Kart Team riders of Unpas HMM (Kart Team HMM Unpas, KTHU) are well-known as a strong opponent when doing the race at the circuit. Every time there is race in go-kart competition, there are always riders from the team winning the podium. On its fifth round of 2021 Gokart Eshark Rok Cup National Competition held in Sentul International Karting Circuit, Bogor on 31 October 2021, two reliable riders of the team, M.Iqbal Tawakal and Imam M. Shayid successfully took the highest position in Shifter 150 and Shifter University. Although there is still one final round left, this acquisition is certainly a gift, coinciding with the 20th anniversary of KTHU. Riders of KTHU should train more intensely in order to present their best performance and win the overall title. Iqbal was recorded to have the first position in Shifter 150, followed by Imam in the second. Iqbal was also announced as the Fastest of the Day Shifter 150, while Imam, regaining his victory in the fourth round, was in the first place in Shifter University. Iqbal said that this result he got must be obtained with extra effort. The reason is, his go-kart piston has just been replaced, so it could not work as optimal as possible when he stepped on the accelerator pedal. “There was also human error found in my tire pressure. Machines with new pistons cannot directly perform its best. We were in a hurry, so we have to accept the situation,” he said. Since the first round, Iqbal has always been in the first place. Therefore, in the final round, Iqbal wants to perform better and targets his record of 50.0 seconds in one lap. “There is one more round left, I want to perform better. I hope in the last round, I could reach the target,” he continued. The General Manager and Mechanic of KTHU, Lukman Sholehudin said that the riders and teams continue to improve their skills and consistence to prepare themselves in the next championships/competitions. “Alhamdulillah, it has been 20 years. Thanks to all your prayers and consistence, as well as support from KTHU Council, teams, university staff leaders, faculties and Department of Mechanical Engineering. Without your support, we could not give our best performance,” he said. He hopes that later KTHU is able to show their best internationally, maintain their achievements, and be the number one go-kart team. “We hope we could join the world highest-level go-kart championship, the Rok Super Final,” he concluded. The target of the first-year batch of independent pre-service PPG program is graduates who have not become teachers yet. This is to form professional teacher candidates who have noble attitude and character and have qualified knowledge and competence. Other than independent pre-service PPG program, Unpas also holds a PPG program for teachers with State Apparatus status and non-State Aparatus status who are already teaching in the education unit. Later, participants who join the PPG program will gain professional certificate for teaching. Dean of Faculty of Teaching and Education (FKIP), Dr. H. Uus Toharudin, M.Pd stated that PPG program which has been developed in Unpas referred to the Standard of Teacher’s Education (Standar Pendidikan Guru, Standar DikGu). It covers the standard of education/teaching, research and community service. “In the Educational Institution for Educational Staff (Lembaga Pendidikan Tenaga Kependidikan, LPTK), we have already carried out the PPG program reformation and improved the quality of educational process according to the National Standard of Higher Education and DikGu,” he explained. The Dean also continued that PPG program is a program for strengthening teachers’ profession to make them able to get certification which will be their preparation to be implemented to the students. The most important thing is, teacher is able to face challenge, take opportunities and prepare for competition in the era of Asean’s Economic Society (Masyarakat Ekonomi Asean, MEA) or globally. “We hope It could be in line with the vision, mission and goals of PPG program. The graduates will perform better at teaching, implementing literacy skill, and contributing to the education improvement in Indonesia,” he said. Meanwhile, Unpas Rector Prof. Dr. Ir. H. Eddy Jusuf Sp, M.Si., M.Kom., IPU said that PPG program was in line with the requirement of teachers which is getting increased. Even more, in Permendikbud No. 83/2013, teachers’ candidates’ background does not always have to be in line with the previous educational background. “Bachelor in Teaching can participate in PPG program, while non-linear ones can take matriculation program. That way, the requirement for teachers’ need is met both in number and competence,” he said. Apart from receiving teaching certificate, participants will also get additional ‘gr’ title behind their Bachelor Degree ‘S.Pd’ title. ‘Gr’ is not only a title, but it also shows that the person concerned has the status of a professional teacher at the same time. “Graduates of PPG program should be able to dig their skills and should not let themselves left behind the students; especially in globalization era which requires them master data literacy, technology and human,” he concluded. Further detail information about PPG program can be accessed in https://ppg.fkip.unpas.ac.id/. (Reta)*
